She could remember the 100th birthday of the poet Justinus Kerner in 1886. In the afternoon there had been a big celebration at the memorial and in the evening a fire work, which had made a big impression on her, especially when at the end the poet's name was written in the sky by the fire work. She was also very proud when she met Justinus Kerner`s son and his beautiful wife, whom she envied her wonderful golden hair.
The politically lively years 1848 and 1849 also left their traces in Weinsberg. A leader of the radicals (the liberals) was Captain Theobald Kerner, the above mentioned son of the poet. The master glazier Betz, later the painter Christian Haeberlen's father-in-law, tried to compose and he succeeded in preventing the completion of a list of signatures of the rebels. After the suppression of the rebellion in Baden Prussian troops were stationed in the area. On a Sunday Konrad Haeberlen (VIII,11) and his friends made the not quite harmless joke to drive through several villages singing "Struwe, Haecker, Zitz and Blum (leaders of the rebellion) come and kill the Prussians." This was typical for the general mood in the south of Germany at this time, especially among young people. In the course of the years this changed completely.
Our ancestor Johann Georg died of pneumonia in 1862, almost 84 years old, a few months after the famous poet Justinus Kerner. Johann Georg died in the house of his son Johann Georg, where he had spent his last years. oral tradition among his descendants allows us some time before; at least among his belongings, which were sold in an auction,
